Speaker Biographies

Kivi Leroux Miller is the founder and CEO of Nonprofit Marketing Guide, where she helps nonprofit communications professionals learn their jobs and love their jobs through a variety of training and coaching programs. She has personally mentored more than 150 nonprofit communications directors and communications teams as a certified executive coach.

She is a popular keynote, workshop, and webinar presenter, speaking dozens of times each year. She is also the co-founder of Bold & Bright Media.

After many years in the San Francisco Bay Area and Washington, DC, Kivi gave up big city life to raise a family in rural North Carolina with her husband, two daughters, two cats, and countless backyard wildlife. She enjoys writing; gardening; volunteering with Girl Scouts, her church, and her local farmers market; hiking; vegetarian cooking; and teaching her kids how to bake.

Prior to joining Dinsmore, Ann Charles specialized in nonprofit organizational development and fundraising, working with hundreds of groups across the country, including Habitat for Humanity International, the Air Force Museum Foundation, Ohio CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) and the U.S. Peace Corps. She is Harvard-educated in strategic nonprofit management and holds certificates in fundraising management from the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University and religious fundraising from the Lake Institute on Faith & Giving. In January 2015, she received the Advanced Certified Fundraising Executive (ACFRE) designation from the Association of Fundraising Professionals, becoming the 103rd person worldwide since 1992 to earn the credential.

Ann Charles focuses her practice on estate planning, probate, charitable gift planning and nonprofit law, as well as guardianships and adoptions. Her experience includes counseling individuals, families and businesses on the complexities of charitable giving, addressing both domestic and international estate planning issues and conducting operational assessments and multi-year philanthropic plans for Section 501 (c)(3) organizations.

Lee Lauren Truesdale is the Chief Development Officer at The Foodbank, the Miami Valley’s largest hunger relief network. A graduate of Wright State University twice over, she fell into fundraising eight years ago and hasn’t left since! Part of a small (but mighty!) development team that raises over $3 million each year, she believes that every donation truly makes a difference.

Jessica Garringer is the Marketing & PR Manager for the Humane Society of Greater Dayton. She has worked with them for more than 7 years and focuses on growing the company’s brand recognition while raising funds and awareness for the organization. Through focused strategies and content planning, she has been able to grow their Facebook page from 4,300 fans to more than 85,000 fans making it one of the largest nonprofit fan bases in the Miami Valley. In addition to her full-time position with the Humane Society of Greater Dayton, Jessica is also the owner of Beautiful Mind Design, where she focuses on assisting nonprofits and small business with strategies for success in regards to marketing and social media.
