Engaging Your Audience in a Virtual World

How do you continue your mission to serve the public through hands-on education and interactive activities when you are closed or limited by COVID-19 safety best practices?  At the Boonshoft Museum, they needed to quickly make many updates and changes in how they meet their mission through moving to online educational programs, low-touch exhibits, and budget conservative marketing initiatives. Hear from Boonshoft’s CEO, Vice President of Education, and Social Media expert, as they share some of the changes they have made, what has worked, and the challenges along the way.

In today’s society, posting a mere statement about fair and equal treatment of all people is not enough. Constituents and stakeholders want to know that your actions match your words and that your words are consistent with organizational values. This session will explore practical tips for how leaders, stakeholders, and anyone else who wants to see their organization thrive can create, support, and maintain an environment that recognizes the value of diversity, promotes equity, and ensures inclusion.

  1. Understand the importance and a leader’s responsibility in addressing racial justice in their organization
  2. Gain ideas for turning company statements on racial justice into action items
  3. How to make the results of this work sustainable

So You Had to Cancel Your Fundraising Event, Now What?

With the onset of the COVID-19 crisis in 2020, many nonprofits have had to cancel events, including fundraising events that have been planned for months for which proceeds are critical to the annual budget. As we continue to operate and provide critical services during this unprecedented time of global change, we must also seek new ways to raise funds and engage supporters.

Join us as we walk through a brief overview of SICSA’s re-work of their 9th annual spring Lift Your Leg! 5K, 10K, and 1-Mile Fun Run event, how it was traditionally run and marketed, and how it was redesigned as a virtual event in May 2020. We’ll also share how we transformed our annual fundraising banquet into an online virtual fundraising event in September 2020. How did it all turn out?

You will receive a social media tracking template & handouts from the presentation.
