Dayton, the 6th largest city in Ohio, anchors the state’s fourth-largest metropolitan area and is located within Ohio’s Miami Valley region. Its primary industries are in industrial and manufacturing, aeronautical, and astronautical engineering fields as defense and aerospace and healthcare account for much of the Dayton area’s economy. Dayton is within 60 percent of the country’s population and manufacturing infrastructure, thus making logistics a significant component of its economy and region.
The city is home to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, the Air Force Institute of Technology, Carillon Historical Park, Dayton Art Institute, Dayton Performing Arts Alliance, the National Museum of the United States Air Force, and the University of Dayton. In sports, Dayton hosted the first football game in what is now known as the National Football League (NFL) at Triangle Park. In recent years, it is host to the First Four, the first round of collegiate basketball kicking off NCAA’s men’s basketball tournament known as March Madness.
