Sam joined Brady Ware as partner in January 2006. He leads the firm’s Dealership Services team, working with dealerships to decrease their tax burden, maximize tax benefits, streamline processes and financial reporting, increase profits, prevent fraud, and expand operations to new markets. He links these services with overall tax, audit, and strategic planning initiatives to help his clients realize financial rewards across their businesses.
Sam is a member of The American Institute and The Ohio Society of CPAs, Construction Financial Management Association, and Builder’s Exchange of Central Ohio. He participates in various roles with several charitable and philanthropic organizations in Central Ohio, including Capital Square Rotary and March of Dimes.
Anita is a licensed attorney and a Tax Director at Brady Ware. She specializes in providing technical international, federal, and state and local tax consulting as well as quality control in all aspects of Brady Ware’s tax division. Anita has over 10 years of experience consulting with clients to help them align their long-term business and financial objectives with a tax strategy that minimizes their overall exposure. Anita has worked with both domestic and international companies across a broad range of industries including those in real estate, technology, manufacturing, renewable energy, and others. She also provides taxpayer representation in matters requiring federal and state private letter rulings.
Anita is the author of articles and white papers on various subject matters. She has presented at conferences and led training sessions and initiatives. Anita is a graduate of Georgia State University College of Law.
Missy’s primary focus is working with nonprofit organizations. She provides audit, review and compilation services as well as consulting. Missy is an expert in non-profit accounting and manages a number of the firm’s engagements in this service sector. Missy joined the firm in 2005, and prior to embarking on a career in accounting, she spent 12 years in consumer finance.
Missy has served on the Board of Directors as treasurer for the Dayton Fund for Home Rehabilitation, Dayton Mandolin Orchestra, and the Ohio Valley Construction Education Foundation (membership organization) and currently services on the Women’s Small Business Accelerator board. Brady Ware is a member of Ohio Providers Resource Association and Missy actively participates in a number of their committees. Missy is a member of Women for Economic and Leadership Development (WELD), the AICPA, and Ohio Society of CPAs.
Cliff Bishop joined Brady Ware’s Mergers & Acquisition’s team in 2004 and is President of Brady Ware Capital. Cliff has more than 20 years of experience working with middle-market companies. Formerly a Senior Vice President in commercial banking with a large regional bank, Cliff provides creative solutions relating to mergers, acquisitions, and capital raising projects. Cliff’s creativity combined with his extensive experience in structuring, negotiating, and executing transactions equates to exceptional results for Brady Ware clients.
Cliff earned his undergraduate degree in finance from Indiana University and his MBA from the University of Dayton. He also holds the Series 7 and 24 securities registrations. Cliff was chosen as one of Dayton’s “Forty Under 40” business leader award recipients and is a graduate of Leadership Dayton.
Cliff is an active volunteer/board member with the YMCA of Metropolitan Dayton and currently serves as the Chair of its Board of Directors. He has also been a volunteer for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Miami Valley and Junior Achievement in the Dayton Public Schools.
Mike specializes in the valuation of intellectual property-driven firms, such as software firms, aerospace firms, and professional services firms, most frequently in the capacity as a transaction advisor helping clients obtain great outcomes from complex transaction opportunities. Mike is also a specialist in the appraisal of intellectual properties as stand-alone assets, such as software, trade secrets, and patents, and he helps clients develop successful commercialization paths for such assets.
He has been a full-time business appraiser for 15 years with public accounting firms, boutique business appraisal firms, and as owner of his own firm. Prior to that, he spent 8 years in venture capital and investment banking, including transactions in the U.S., Israel, Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus.
Mike is very active in the Atlanta startup community. He is the co-founder of StartupLounge, a nonprofit that supports early stage technology entrepreneurs and investors, he teaches the technology valuation module in the Georgia Tech/Emory University TIGER program, and he has coached 6 teams to victory in various business plan competitions for a total of $350,000 in prize money and another entrepreneur who received funding through ABC’s Shark Tank. He continues holding monthly office hours in Chamblee and Alpharetta.
Mike was named to the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Top 40 Under 40 list in 2009 and is a graduate of the Leadership Atlanta Class of 2014. Mike is also a semi-professional musician, playing keyboards and vocals for a classic rock cover band. Finally, Mike is host of the Decision Vision podcast, a podcast covering different strategic decision case studies each week.
Beth joined Brady Ware in 2015 as a tax director. She has extensive experience with partnerships and private equity firms and has served middle-market companies for the majority of her career. She utilizes a customized approach that meets the needs of the business as well as the owners and investors.
Beth serves as the firm’s Tax Practice Leader, providing tax leadership for the entire firm while continuing to provide business and tax consulting services to the firm’s clients, both locally and regionally.
Beth worked for two of the largest international CPA firms for 25 years, and she has worked closely with all types of stakeholders, including private equity investors. She has also served private clients of various sizes in manufacturing, retail, and consumer products.
Beth is a licensed CPA in the state of Ohio and is a member of the Ohio Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs.
Gary joined the firm in 2012 through a merger with Nipps, Brown, Collins & Associates. He comes with over 29 years of experience in Corporate and Governmental environments servicing Long-Term Care, Mental Health and related Service Alternatives. He is a recognized expert in Medicaid Reimbursement, Provider Service Negotiations, and related operational matters. Gary provides consulting services to Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF’s) as well as Home and Community Based (HCBS) Medicaid Waiver service providers throughout Ohio.
He serves on trade association committees, is a frequent speaker at provider conferences, and is utilized in the legislative rule review and biennial budget bill process concerning Medicaid funding initiatives. He is known for achieving win-win resolutions while advocating for services to those in need.
Brian joined Brady Ware in 2002 and has more than 30 years of diverse experience in the tax sector with an emphasis on servicing middle-market companies. Formerly a tax partner with a national firm, Brian focuses his energies on business development, consulting, and practice management.
Brian has a diverse background in tax planning with a focus on transaction planning and related business consulting services. He has also developed specialized knowledge in the manufacturing, construction, real estate, and technology industries.
In addition to his client responsibilities, Brian is co-CEO of the firm along with Jim Kaiser.
Brian is a member of The American Institute of CPAs and The Ohio Society of CPAs. He has served as a member of the Montgomery County Human Services Levy Council, United Way Professional Services Team, and has been the Treasurer for the local Wegerzyn Garden Center. Brian has also been active in fund raising for the American Heart Association Heart Ball. He was previously chosen as one of Dayton’s “40 under 40” Business Leader Award recipients.
Chriss has over 10 years of experience in public accounting. She specializes in tax and business advisory services, with an emphasis in tax compliance. She also has experience in a variety of areas, including federal compliance, multi-state corporate taxation, pass-through entities, and individual tax planning. Her clients include professional services firms, real estate firms, construction companies, and a variety of other industries.
Chriss is a licensed CPA in the state of Georgia. She is an active member of the America Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants. In addition to daily responsibilities, she serves as one of the firm’s liaisons at Tech Alpharetta, providing business support and tax advice to start-up technology companies. Chriss received a BA in Accounting and a Masters in Accounting with a specialization in taxation from Kennesaw State University.
Eric believes it is very important for him to help his clients better understand and manage their businesses to achieve success. He works with them on issues such as structuring the business appropriately, building strategic plans that focus on achieving the owners’ goals and evaluating opportunities to acquire other entities or sell an existing business. He has assisted clients with identifying tax minimization opportunities including Federal and State tax credits, real estate acquisitions, cost segregation studies, IC-DISC services, and obtaining financing. His clients include technology and bio-tech companies, manufacturing and distribution companies, construction companies, professional services firms, franchises, and high-net worth families.
Eric is originally from South Georgia. He has over 20 years of experience in the accounting industry and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of CPAs. He also holds leadership positions in several organizations, such as the Alpharetta Chamber of Commerce and Bio/Med Investor Network.
Twana joined Brady Ware in 2003 and has experience in both public and private accounting. She is a senior member of Brady Ware’s Audit and Attest Services Practice and a member of the firm’s Nonprofit Services Group. She specializes in accounting, audit, and financial reporting matters and has significant expertise in servicing nonprofit organizations.
Twana is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Indiana CPA Society and is the first person in the firm’s history to become a shareholder while maintaining a flexible work schedule. She’s involved in the Indiana CPA Society Leadership Council and is on the Wayne County Area Chamber of Commerce Issues and Advocacy Committee.
David works on a variety of engagements which include providing audit, review, and compilation services; auditing employee benefit plans; and reviews of asset-based lending audits. He also assists with due diligence work with respect to company mergers and acquisitions.
David joined the firm in August 1997 and is a member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and is an alumnus of the Leadership Dayton Class of 2016. David also currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Clothes that Work, Inc. and CHOICES, Inc.
Mary is responsible for managing several of the firm’s audit engagements, has an extensive background in governmental auditing, and oversees several audits of nonprofit organizations, including those receiving federal funding. Mary has met the professional requirements to perform audits in compliance with OMB Uniform Guidance.
She works closely with many of our nonprofit, construction contractor, small business, and start-up clients. She heads up Brady Ware’s small business department, as well as handles corporate, partnership, and personal tax preparation.
Mary is member of the Board of Directors of the Dayton YWCA and serves on their finance committee. She is also one of the founding Board Members for Clothes That Work, a nonprofit organization that provides appropriate professional attire and other assistance to women transitioning from welfare to work. Mary is a frequent lecturer in the nonprofit community on a variety of audit, internal controls, and corporate governance issues.
Betty joined Brady Ware & Company in 2012 through a merger with Nipps, Brown, Collins & Associates. She started her career in public accounting in 1988. Betty is co-leader of the Long Term Care service team, which helps providers of services to Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and nursing centers establish effective operational models that also maximize available funding. She consults with other small businesses, helping them prosper with advice on general operations management, cash flow optimization, and tax minimization strategies.
In addition, Betty serves on the Board of Directors for Brady Ware and Company. She leads Brady Ware’s Women’s Initiative, a program designed to empower female employees, allowing them to tap into unique resources and unleash their full potential. Betty helps her colleagues create a work/life balance while inspiring them to set and reach personal and professional goals. The Women’s Initiative promotes women-to-women business relationships for clients and holds an annual conference that supports women business owners, women leaders, and other women who want to succeed. Betty actively participates in women-oriented conferences through speaking engagements and board activity.
Betty is a member of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and she is the President-elect for the Columbus Chapter. Brady Ware also partners with the Women’s Small Business Accelerator (WSBA), an organization designed to help female business owners develop and implement a strong business strategy through education and mentorship, and Betty participates in their mentor match program. She is passionate about WSBA because she believes in their acceleration program and matching women with the right advisors to help them achieve their business ownership goals. Betty supports the WSBA and NAWBO because these organizations deliver resources that help other women-owned and managed businesses thrive.
Betty is a graduate of Mount Vernon Nazarene College, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and a member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants. Betty is also the Board Chairwoman for the Gahanna Area Chamber of Commerce, and she serves on the Board of the Community Improvement Corporation of Gahanna as Treasurer.
Brian manages a variety of tax and accounting engagements for the firm’s Columbus, Ohio business clients in numerous industries, including construction, auto dealerships, and professional services. Additionally, Brian’s consulting experience includes evaluation of internal controls, development of forecasts, budgets and cash flow projections as well as an expertise in ESOP accounting.
Brian joined Brady Ware in October 2011, and he has over five years of experience in federal tax, multi-state corporate income and franchise tax, and municipal income tax. In addition to his tax compliance background, Brian works on various consulting engagements for his clients – ranging from monthly QuickBooks checkup and accounting services to cash flow analysis and business valuation.
He is a member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Cory has experience in audit, review, and compilation services throughout multiple industries, including Retail, Real Estate, Construction, and Not-for-Profit. Before joining Brady Ware in 2017, Cory worked for a Big Four Firm working with publicly traded organizations.
Cory participates in the Brady Ware technical committee focusing on accounting standard changes and the implementation of such changes. In his spare time, Cory volunteers as a coach for the Westerville Special Olympics soccer program. Cory serves as a lead on many of the firm’s Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards engagements and has met the professional requirements to perform audits in compliance with OMB Circular A-133.
Randy works on a variety of accounting, auditing, and consulting engagements, as well as corporate and individual tax areas. He provides services to closely held businesses in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, dealerships, retail, distribution, professional services, transportation, and real estate. He also leads the firm’s fraud services practice and assists with recruiting and training of new team members and serves as the head of the firm’s assurance services group technology committee.
Randy is a member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. He also serves as chair for the Better Business Bureau’s Eclipse Integrity Awards committee and is active with the Dayton Chamber of Commerce and the Miami Valley Venture Association.
Randy is a 1994 graduate of Wright State University. After working three years with another regional accounting firm in Dayton, Randy joined Brady Ware in July of 1997.
Brian joined Brady Ware in 2017 and has more than 25 years of experience helping accounting firms grow their practices. He led the marketing functions for two of the top 50 CPA firms in the U.S. and has consulted with firms across North America on improving their marketing programs. Brian will lead the firm’s overall marketing efforts with a focus on growth.
Brian is a member of the Association for Accounting Marketing where he has served on several committees as well as the Board of Directors. He is also a member of the Association’s Hall of Fame.
Roger joined Brady Ware’s Mergers and Acquisition team in 2016 and is a Director at Brady Ware Capital. He has more than 30 years of experience in banking, where he led teams that focused on middle-market companies.
Roger leverages his banking experience with middle market companies to help family-owned businesses and management teams maximize the value of their investments. Specifically, he guides business owners through the sale of their business, or assists them in securing the liquidity needed to grow their business.
Kiersten has extensive experience in State and Local Tax, specializing in Indirect Tax. She has served a variety of industries ranging in size from middle market to Fortune 50 companies, working with them to minimize their state tax burden in numerous areas including sales/use tax, property tax, and state & local income tax.
Kiersten has worked for two of the largest international CPA firms and has concentrated on multistate taxation since 2000. Although she has extensive background with Indirect Taxes, she began her career in Federal Tax and brings that breadth to the State and Local practice.
Kiersten is a licensed CPA in the State of Ohio and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Tom has practiced public accounting since 1980, joining the firm in 1985. He is one of the firm’s tax directors.
Tom’s strong background in tax enables him to provide extensive services to the firm’s clients in the areas of business and tax planning, estate and retirement planning, liquidations, bankruptcies, exempt organizations, tax–free reorganizations, and business succession consulting. Tom focuses on accounting and tax consulting for physicians, manufacturers, developers, and a variety of other types of industries. He spends time representing taxpayers before the IRS, writes for various trade publications and gives tax presentations.
Tom is a member of The American Institute of CPAs and The Ohio Society of CPAs. He is also involved with the Montgomery County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities and the Montgomery County Frail Elderly Services Advisory Committee.
Tracy is involved in review and compilation engagements, as well as non profit, corporate, partnerships and personal income tax preparation. She also works with multi-state taxation issues. She joined Brady Ware in 1990, and has over 26 years of experience in public accounting.
Tracy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Indiana and Ohio CPA Societies. She’s also the treasurer of Darke County Hospice, Inc. dba State of the Heart Hospice.
Abigail has over 15 years of experience in federal tax, multi-state corporate income and franchise tax, municipal tax, and not-for-profit compliance. She began her career in public accounting in 2005 serving clients of all industries. Through the years, she has served clients both domestically and internationally and while she still serves clients of all industries Abigail’s focus and expertise is now geared toward consulting and advising clients in the Real Estate, Healthcare, Financial Products, and Nonprofit sectors. Abigail consults with clients, providing them with strategic planning in order to help them minimize their tax burdens and achieve their financial goals.
Abigail is a member of the Ohio Society of CPAs and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is a member of CREW Columbus (Commercial Real Estate for Women) and on the Board of OCCRRA.
Sharon is involved with review and compilation engagements, as well as corporate, partnerships, and personal tax preparation. She joined the firm in 1989 and has developed an expertise in multi-state taxation issues. In addition, she is member of the firm’s Construction and Real Estate Services Team. Sharon is an active part of the Tax Quality Control committee at Brady Ware.
Sharon is involved in the Women Build Committee for Habitat for Humanity, and has also served as a volunteer with Junior Achievement.
Jeff joined the firm in 1980 after graduating Magna Cum Laude from Ball State University. He became a director in 1989 and serves many of the firm’s professional clients. Jeff’s focus is on tax and financial planning issues of professionals and closely-held businesses.
Jeff focuses on assisting clients in planning for retirement. Often, his work involves the preparation of retirement feasibility analyses. He also assists clients of all types in structuring and implementing retirement savings plans. Jeff’s planning efforts often include developing business transition and estate plans for business owners and professionals. He is also called upon to assist clients in structuring financial settlements in divorce proceedings.
Jeff is a member of the Board of Directors of the Economic Development Corporation of Wayne County. He has served as president of the board of the Richmond Symphony Orchestra, the Reid Hospital and Health Care Services Foundation Board and the Forest Hills Country Club Board.
Jim is an Audit and Assurance Director in Brady Ware’s Dayton, Ohio office. He has over 25 years of experience in public accounting. Jim began his career in public accounting in the audit practice of an international accounting firm, then moved to industry where he served as controller for a local manufacturing subsidiary of a publicly traded company before joining Brady Ware in 1996.
Jim’s experience extends to a wide range of client services, including due diligence, acquisitions, audits, reviews, compilations, and other special attestation functions. He has significant consulting experience with closely held companies, with a particular emphasis on the manufacturing/distribution, and transportation industries. Jim has extensive experience advising banks on asset-based lending matters so they can assess the true risk associated with their asset-based portfolios.
In addition to his client responsibilities, Jim is co-CEO of the firm along with Brian Carr.
Jim’s practice extends beyond general auditing and accounting matters and encompasses analyzing and developing cost structures and financial plans, benchmarking and financing, internal control evaluation, and general business management for both large and small businesses. He also has extensive experience with financial statements, break-even analysis, forecasts and budgets, product cost analysis, pay-back calculations, and other financial calculations meaningful to operating a successful business.
Jim is a member of The Ohio Society of CPAs, The American Institute of CPAs, the Miami Valley Venture Capital Association, and the Dayton Regional Manufacturing Association. He currently serves on the finance committee and is a board member for the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce. He is an alumnus of the Leadership Dayton Program sponsored by the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce.
Mark joined Brady Ware with the merger of Rodefeld Kassens & North in 2019. He began his career in 1996 with a large regional firm in Richmond, Indiana, before he transferred to the firm’s headquarters to focus on serving their high wealth clients and small business owners. In 2002, he returned to the Richmond area to serve many of the clients he began his career with and to continue his commitment to serving small business owners in the Eastern Indiana area.
Mark is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Indiana CPA Society and a proud graduate of the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
Kristin manages a variety of tax and accounting engagements in our Columbus and Dayton, Ohio offices for the firm’s individual and business clients in numerous industries, including real estate, wholesale, and professional services. She has experience in federal tax, multi-state corporate income and franchise tax, municipal income tax, and tax-exempt organizations.
Kristin joined the firm in 2011 and is a member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Nick works on a variety of engagements, including business and personal tax preparation and planning. He also is a member of the Brady Ware’s Dealership Advisors group, providing specialized consulting knowledge to the auto industry.
Nick joined the firm in 2009 and is a member of the Ohio Society of CPAs and the AICPA.
Tommy has more than 25 years experience in public accounting. Prior to joining the Brady Ware family, he was a tax partner with Marsh & McConnell for 21 years.
Tommy’s responsibilities include general business consulting, strategic planning and tax and audit services. He also specializes in Federal and State income tax laws and regulations as they relate to closely held corporations and partnerships, as well as personal and financial, income and estate planning. He has significant experience in obtaining IRS ruling requests, approval for changes in tax accounting methods, and tax issues relating to problems that arise in connection with complex business transactions.
Tommy is a member of the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, as well as the Georgia Society of CPAs.
Anna’s focus is on taxation of closely held businesses belonging to a variety of industries and the owners of those businesses. Her goal with tax engagements is to reduce clients’ tax liability while keeping them compliant with tax laws. She has experience with federal income tax, multi-state income tax, and municipal income tax. She also has experience with personal property tax and estate tax. She joined Brady Ware in 2013.
As a lifelong supporter of the arts, Anna gives back to her community by serving on the Board of Directors for the Richmond Community Orchestra, where she has held the titles of President and Treasurer. As a volunteer, she has played in the 1st Violin section of the orchestra. She also serves on the Finance Committee for the Richmond Civic Theatre and has served on the Finance Committee for the United Way of the Whitewater Valley.
Anna received a Bachelor of Science in Business degree from Wright State University with a major in Accountancy and a minor in Economics. She also earned a Master of Taxation degree from Villanova University. She is a member of the Ohio Society of CPAs and the Indiana CPA Society.
Tony specializes in tax services, including tax planning, preparation of tax returns, technical tax research and representation before taxing authorities and has over 30 years experience in public accounting.
Tony is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of CPAs.
Matt began his public accounting career in 1998 and has comprehensive experience assisting clients with all aspects of tax planning and compliance throughout the life cycle of a business. From choice of entity at inception, to compliance throughout the years, and concluding with transaction planning on disposition, Matt is well-versed in the technical issues at each stage. In addition, he has worked extensively in dealing with tax and accounting matters for pass-through entities and their owners.
While having worked with a broad range of clients, Matt has particular expertise in serving the auto dealership, construction and real estate, and manufacturing sectors. He is an active member of many related industry associations and organizations, including the Ohio and Columbus Automobile Dealers Associations, Construction Financial Management Association, and Builders Exchange of Central Ohio.
In addition to his client service responsibilities, Matt is involved in training, coaching and mentoring. His efforts are both within Brady Ware and outside the firm as an adjunct professor at the collegiate level.
Matt is a graduate of Wittenberg University, Capital University Law School, and the Leadership Columbus Class of 2014. When not immersed in tax, Matt enjoys spending time with his family, following his favorite sports teams, and playing drums and percussion in an alternative rock band.
Bradley manages a variety of tax and accounting engagements for the firm’s Dayton, Ohio, business clients in a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, wholesale, construction, and professional services. She has over five years of experience in federal tax, multi-state corporate income and franchise tax, and municipal income tax.
In addition to her tax compliance background, Bradley specializes in managing large tax compliance engagements. Her experience extends to all areas of tax planning, research, and compliance for both closely held and public corporations and partnerships.
Bradley is a member of the Ohio Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. She currently serves as board treasurer for Musica, Dayton’s Chamber Choir.
Jennifer has been practicing accounting in Richmond, Indiana, for 25 years. Jennifer is involved in accounting and auditing engagements and tax preparation for corporations, partnerships, individuals, and non profits. She also serves as a consultant to many closely held businesses.
Jennifer is a member of the Indiana CPA Society and the American Institute of CPAs.
Jennifer serves on the board of directors of West End Bank, is the chairman of the audit committee of West End Bank, and serves as secretary-treasurer for Centerville-Abington Community Schools Building Corporation. She is a native of Richmond, Indiana, and a graduate of Richmond High School and Ball State University.
Patrick has over 10 years of service with Brady Ware and works on a variety of engagements, including audit, review, and compilation services, as well as audits of employee benefit plans and asset-based lending examinations. He also assists clients with business advisory services and with due diligence relating to company mergers and acquisitions.
Patrick is a member of the Ohio Society of CPAs and the AICPA. Patrick also currently serves as Vice President of the Dayton chapter of Financial Executives International.
Bob is an Audit & Assurance Services Director and works with a variety of nonprofit organizations in southeast Indiana and southwest Ohio. In addition to his experience as an auditor, Bob serves as Brady Ware’s Accounting and Assurance Services Quality Control Director and he leads Brady Ware’s Nonprofit Practice.
For over 30 years, he has worked closely with leaders of nonprofit organizations to formulate and implement strategies for growth, how to effectively safeguard, manage and utilize resources to maximize operating results, and the impact of program outcomes. Bob has developed an expertise in consulting on such matters as strategic planning, leadership succession, operating and financial controls, financial reporting, board development and organizational governance.
Bob also has a history of volunteer service and currently serves as Board President of the Wright State University Alumni Association, Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Greater Dayton / Miami Valley Better Business Bureau, Treasurer of the Miami Valley Nonprofit Collaborative and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Indiana CPA Society Education Foundation.
Bob is recognized as a thought-leader on matters affecting the nonprofit community and is a frequent speaker at various nonprofit and community events, He was instrumental in the development of Brady Ware’s annual Take Five Nonprofit Leadership Conference, a complimentary, high-quality training and professional development event that focuses on strategic issues impacting the region’s nonprofit organizations.
In 2019, Bob was awarded the Dave Donaldson Award of Distinction, or the “3D,” at the Greater Dayton / Miami Valley Better Business Bureau’s Eclipse Awards. During 2017, he received the Indiana CPA Society’s Indiana’s Outstanding CPA in Community Service Award, and was recognized as a Volunteer of the Year by the Indiana Association of United Ways.
Bob is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Indiana CPA Society. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Indiana CPA Society and the Executive Committee of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Governmental Audit Quality Center.
Todd has been with the firm since 1984. He is a director of the firm and specializes in accounting and financing for closely held businesses. He also heads up the firm’s Construction & Real Estate team where he has extensive experience in working with general contractors, subcontractors and real estate developers.
Todd is a member of Brady Ware’s Mergers & Acquisitions division where he assists companies by providing services related to mergers, acquisitions, financing, and due diligence to business owners and entrepreneurs. Todd believes in staying current on the trends in middle-market deals and offering his vast financial and strategic knowledge to help our clients obtain the best deals.
Todd is a member of The American Institute of CPAs and The Ohio Society of CPAs. He has served on of the board of directors of the Ohio Valley Construction Education Foundation and the Builders Association of Dayton and the Miami Valley. He was elected as “Associate Member of the Year” in 2001 by the Dayton Home Builders Association and was also chosen as one of Dayton’s “40 under 40” Business Leader Award recipients.
Dylan manages a variety of accounting and auditing engagements for the firm’s Dayton, Ohio, clients in numerous industries, including construction, manufacturing, and technology. He has an extensive background in auditing nonprofit organizations, including those that are recipients of federal funding, as well as experience in auditing employee benefit plans.
Dylan is a member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He serves as the Treasurer of the Board of Directors for the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company and also volunteers on the Associate Board of the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery.
Dylan joined Brady Ware in 2015. He is a graduate of Wright State University with a Masters in Accountancy.
Mike joined Brady Ware in 2004. He has over 25 years of experience in public accounting and industry, including both closely held and publically traded companies. Prior to joining Brady Ware, Mike worked for two national accounting firms.
Mike’s focus includes federal tax, IRS audit, multi-state corporate income and franchise, individual tax, sales tax, and municipal income tax. He has significant experience in managing and coordinating large tax compliance engagements, several of which are US subsidiaries with a foreign-based parent company. Mike’s diverse tax technical background provides expertise in consolidated income tax returns and accounting methods. Other areas of expertise include specialized knowledge in the manufacturing and construction industries. Mike leads the Brady Ware Cost Segregation practice and has performed and reviewed studies of numerous commercial properties.
Mike is a graduate of Bowling Green State University and has a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Dayton. He serves on Bellbrook’s City Council.
Dan manages a variety of tax engagements for the firm’s Dayton, Ohio, business clients in various industries, including real estate, construction, manufacturing, and professional services. He has experience in federal tax, multi-state corporate income and franchise tax, municipal income tax, and ASC 740 compliance.
Dan is a member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He serves as the Treasurer of the Board of Directors for UpDayton and also volunteers on the Finance Committee of the Life Enrichment Center.
Dan joined Brady Ware in 2016. He is a graduate of Wright State University with a Masters in Accountancy.
Owen specializes in business valuation and debt advisory services across a variety of industries. He performs business valuations for tax purposes, litigation support, and mergers and acquisitions. Owen also assists companies in obtaining or restructuring debt to help them grow and improve cash flow. Prior to his career in public accounting, Owen was a United States Marine and served a tour in Iraq’s Anbar Province.
Owen is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the CFA Society of Dayton, and the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts. Along with being a licensed CPA, he’s also a Certified Valuation Analyst. He obtained his B.S. in Accounting from the University of Northern Colorado and his MBA in finance from Xavier University.
Teresa has over twenty-five years of experience in public accounting and private industry. Her experience includes not-for-profit organizations, professional service firms, wholesalers, manufacturing and importers/exporters of various industries. Teresa has assisted her clients in a broad range of general management and financial consulting services, accounting systems design, and accounting and financial reporting issues.
In addition to providing client service, Teresa serves as the Atlanta Audit Leader for the firm. She has earned the AICPA IFRS Certificate. Prior to joining the firm, Teresa specialized in software consulting and implementation of fully integrated accounting software for various types of organizations including wholesalers and manufacturers, and importers/exporters.
Teresa is a CPA in Georgia and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants. Teresa has served as a coach for youth sports and is involved in a variety of not-for-profit organizations where she holds leadership positions.
Steven R. Stanforth, CPA, CMA, CGMA
Chief Operating Officer / Chief Financial Officer
Steve serves as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at Brady Ware & Company. He spent 10 years of his career with a global accounting firm before serving two CFO positions in the Dayton region for 16 years. Most recently, Steve was the CFO of a large quick serve franchisee where he was responsible for the company’s financial operations.
Steve is a graduate of Wright State University and received his degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Ohio as well as a Certified Management Accountant. Steve is also affiliated with a variety of civic and professional organizations.
Matthew specializes in tax and business advisory services, with an emphasis in tax compliance. He also has experience in a variety of areas, including high net-worth individuals, trusts and estates, private foundations, and tax planning. He has over eight years of experience in public accounting and focuses on providing high quality service to his clients.
Matthew is a licensed CPA in the state of Georgia. He is an active member of the America Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants. In addition to daily responsibilities, he serves as one of the firm’s liaisons at Tech Alpharetta, providing business support and tax advice to start-up technology companies.
He is also involved with the firm’s recruiting efforts at universities, and he attends on-campus events to meet with current students and discuss the opportunities a career in accounting can provide. Matthew is also an active member in his community and volunteers with the nonprofit organization All About Cats.
Mike was raised in a family-owned business, worked as a controller for a local manufacturing company, and as an auditor for a national accounting firm before joining the firm in 1989 and becoming a Director in 1998. He assists clients in developing strategies for organizing, operating, and selling their businesses. His goal is to help his clients earn more from their business and to keep more of what they earn.
With extensive experience with corporate, partnership, and individual taxation, he serves many closely held business clients. He has developed a special expertise in business valuations and earned his ABV (Accredited Business Valuation) accreditation from the AICPA in 1999. He leads the firm’s Business Valuation Services team.
Mike is a member of The American Institute of CPAs and The Ohio Society of CPAs. He is also a member of the Dayton Association of Tax Professionals, and the Oakwood Rotary Club.
Cory manages a variety of the firm’s accounting and auditing engagements, working closely with nonprofit organizations, private post-secondary education institutions, and a variety of other types of businesses. He has an extensive background in governmental auditing and oversees a number of audits of nonprofit organizations that are recipients of federal funding. In addition to auditing, he is an active member of Brady Ware’s ASG technology committee.
Cory is a member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants, Indiana CPA Society, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is on the board of directors of JACY House and a member of the finance committee at his church, Eaton Church of the Brethren. Cory graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business with an Accountancy Focus in December 2007.
Adam manages a variety of tax and accounting engagements for the firm’s Dayton, Ohio, business clients in numerous industries, including manufacturing, real estate, construction, alternative investments, and professional services. He has experience in federal tax, multi-state corporate income and franchise tax, and municipal income tax, and in addition to his tax compliance background, Adam specializes in preparing and managing complex partnership engagements.
Adam is a member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He serves as the Treasurer of the Board of Directors for the Ohio Valley Construction Education Foundation and also serves on the board of the Young Professionals at Austin Landing. He joined Brady Ware in December 2010.
Laura has over 13 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on international taxation and mergers and acquisitions. She has served middle-market companies in a broad range of industries including consumer products, manufacturing, distribution, TV broadcasting, technology, and real estate. Laura believes in working collaboratively to deliver the right services and client experience.
She is fluent in French and served as a member of the French Desk at a national CPA firm where she acted as a resource to French multi-nationals. She is also involved with the French-American Chamber of Commerce.
Laura is a licensed CPA in Georgia and Massachusetts and member of the Georgia Society of CPAs and the American Institute of Certified Public Accounting.
Andrew joined Brady Ware in 2012 and has over 6 years of experience in public accounting and private industry.
Andrew specializes in audit, review, and business advisory services for international and domestic private enterprises in the technology, engineering, and not-for-profit sectors. He is a member of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts.
Keith joined Brady Ware’s Mergers and Acquisitions team in 2006 and is manager of Brady Ware Capital. Keith has more than 12 years of experience working with privately owned middle market companies, including six years working in commercial banking with a large regional bank. Keith earned his undergraduate degree in financial services from Wright State University. He also holds the series 62 and 24.
Thomas has fourteen years of public accounting experience and has served a wide range of clients with a special interest in not-for-profit organizations.
He has worked with his clients to address various needs, including the development and implementation of a strong internal control environment and various other accounting, tax, and system issues with the ultimate goal of helping organizations fulfill their missions.
Thomas is a CPA in Georgia and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a member of the Georgia Society of Association Executives and the Georgia Center for Nonprofits and a graduate of Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting. He also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Southern Polytechnic State University. Thomas is involved in a variety of activities, including several years of serving as a youth sports coach.
Tom joined Brady Ware in 2010, after spending over 11 years with two regional public accounting firms.
Tom has experience in audit, review, and compilation services, as well as a wide range of corporate, accounting, and other general business consulting. He works closely with Brady Ware’s dealership clients providing various business solutions and financial consulting services. Tom also assists dealers to develop plans to increase profitability and increase efficiency in dealership operations.
Tom is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Ohio Society of CPAs.
