2008 Tax Law Changes

SECTION 179 maximum deduction increases to $250,000. Phase-out threshold increases to $800,000.
STANDARD MILEAGE RATE for business driving increases to 50.5¢ a mile. Rate for medical and moving mileage decreases to 19¢ a mile. Rate for charitable driving remains at 14¢ a mile.
ESTATE TAX top rate remains at 45%, and the exemption amount remains at $2 million. The ANNUAL GIFT TAX EXCLUSION remains at $12,000.

Rita A. Keller – Director

Rita is Brady Ware’s administrative director. She serves as the firm’s Chief Operating Officer and is nationally known for her expertise in CPA firm management. She is responsible for firm operations, including administration, human resources, marketing, technology, training and internal accounting.

While Rita’s most important client is Brady Ware, she actively consults with CPA firms nationwide, assisting firm leaders to position themselves for success in today’s rapidly growing and changing environment. She works with individual firms and CPA firm associations to address the human capital challenges and also provides personalized mentoring to firm administrators and managing partners. One of Rita’s most requested services is instilling mentoring cultures in firms that are growing and expanding rapidly.

Rita’s involvement with national organizations and publications are numerous. Her passion for excellence in CPA firm management is documented by her many years of service to the profession and by being named to Accounting Today’s Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting for two consecutive years.

Also on the local level, she is very active in the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce, serving on two committees.
